Grassroots Democracy
is building a national, year-round home for people who want to defend the promise of a country run by its people.
What We Do
We bring together people of all races, genders, and backgrounds who believe in freedom. A handful of billionaires and grifters are trying to rig the rules to protect their power—but their control is like a stacked block tower, held up by a few key supports. By organizing together, we’re pulling those blocks away, one by one. When we learn how to lead, organize, and defend our communities, the many can overcome the money—and build a country where freedom and fairness truly belong to everyone.
We defend fair elections and the people’s right to decide our country’s future. We do this work year-round, so ordinary people always have a place to belong, grow, and take meaningful action.
We help people make sense of what’s happening by breaking down how power, government, and organizing really work. We train volunteers and seek to work alongside community groups led by poor and working-class people of color, strengthening the leadership and organizing that is already happening on the ground.
By growing leaders, bringing people together across race, class, and geography, and welcoming people wherever they are, we turn cynicism into hope and action. We study what works, learn from past efforts, and build better ways to organize so we can develop the thousands of leaders needed to meet this moment and protect the future we deserve.
